Containerboard
The CPI Department of Unirep focuses on the Corrugated Packaging Industry. In line with the Company's mission, CPI aims to be the "most sought after"supplier of Production Material and Investment Equipment to the Corrugated Box Industry. Additionally, the Department also has some activities in the flexible packaging industry.
CPI incorporates a diverse, but related and complimentary, range of products required by the Corrugated Box Industry. The product range offered to the customers consist of; various machinery and capital equipment, all grades of container board and consumables used regularly in daily production. Especially for the consumables, the Department employs Unirep’s warehousing and logistics capabilities. This in return provides the ability for the Department to engage in “long term supply contracts”, afford just-in-time services to her customers, as well as regular and predictable marketing possibility for her suppliers.
Furthermore, the Department also employs manpower resources with experiences in a variety of disciplines such as; procurement, international trading, logistics, as well as technical.
The Corrugated Box Industry is one of the fastest growing industrial sectors within Unirep’s Territory. As an example, the Turkish Corrugated Box industry has averaged an annual growth of approximately 9% during the last decade. Therefore, Unirep’s management has taken a strategic targeting decision to enhance the resources available to this department in improving her product range and the services provided to customers, as well as to the suppliers.
Products
The products being handled can be described in three categories :
1. Machinery And Equipment
The Department has “exclusive” sales agreements with major suppliers of complete Corrugating Lines, Converting Equipment and Peripheral Equipment used in the production of corrugated boxes. Some technical service assistance, as well as spare part stocks are maintained for some of the equipment being sold.
2. Containerboard
Through “exclusive” and “non-exclusive” sales arrangements with a number of suppliers, Unirep’s CPI Department is able to sell a wide range of Containerboard grades in her Territory. While a part of the sales are conducted as direct indent shipment businesses, a good part of the sales go through Unirep’s own warehousing and distribution network. Thereby, Unirep is able to bring a JIT service to help customers reduce stock levels of containerboard at their plants. At the same time, Unirep is able to bring a flexibility to her suppliers; by combining orders and roll widths to increase their productivity, as well as providing the necessary marketing options and alternatives at times of need. The Containerboard grades supplied by Unirep are; Virgin Kraftliner of premium quality, White Top Kraftliner, White Top Testliner, all Testliner grades, pure Semi-Chemical Fluting, Corrugating Medium and other waste-based Fluting grades. In addition, Sack kraft and light grammage kraft liners for various application in flexible packaging industry are also supplied by Unirep.
3. Consumables
Unirep is the first company to employ her logistics capabilities to service the Corrugated Box Industry in the Turkish Market. In this respect, Unirep was also the first company to introduce the concept of “long term” water based ink supply contracts against “in-house ink production” capabilities in the Turkish Industry. Presently, Unirep supplies more than 70% of the “in-house production” employing box plants in Turkey. Similar systems are being planned for other markets within Unirep’s Territory. In addition to the sales of Water Based Liquid Inks, Unirep also sells Corrugating Rolls and Anilox Rolls, as well as other Printing and Embossing Rolls.
